Indiana IHSAA Boys' Basketball Sectionals Get Underway

It's Hoosier Hysteria Time Again


The 99th annual IHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament will get underway March 2-7 as 402 Indiana high schools compete in sectionals at 64 sites around the state. Championships are awarded in classes A, 2A, 3A, and 4A, and class placement is determined by the size of the high school (4A being the largest schools).

Indianapolis high schools and those in the surrounding counties will be battling it out on the court as follows:

Class 4A

  • At Indianapolis Arlington: Lawrence Central, Indianapolis Cathedral, North Central, Indianapolis Broad Ripple, Lawrence North, Warren Central, Indianapolis Arlington
  • At Pike: Avon, Ben Davis, Indianapolis Manual, Indianapolis Ars. Technical, Decatur Central, Brownsburg, Pike
  • At Center Grove: Franklin Central, Perry Meridian, Center Grove, Southport, Whiteland, Franklin Community, Greenwood
  • At Noblesville: Fishers, Carmel, Westfield, Hamilton Southeastern, Zionsville, Noblesville
  • Also playing: Greenfield Central at New Castle; Plainfield at Terre Haute North

Class 3A

  • At Beech Grove: Roncalli, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, Beech Grove, Indianapolis Howe, Indianapolis Northwest, Brebeuf Jesuit
  • At Hamilton Heights: New Palestine, Shelbyville, Mt. Vernon (Fortville), Hamilton Heights, Rushville
  • Also playing: Danville at Crawfordsville

Class 2A

  • At Indian Creek: Indianapolis Washington, Indianapolis Scecina, Indian Creek, Triton Central, Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, Heritage Christian, Park Tudor
  • Also playing: Speedway at South Putnam
