Festivals, Concerts and Air Shows Fill This Month's Schedule

June is packed full of events! Enjoy an outdoor concert, a festival or an air show. Don't forget that farmers markets are also in full swing this time of year. Whatever you're in the mood for, there's plenty to keep you busy!

'The Wizard of Oz'

Join Dorthy, The Cowardly Lion, The Scarecrow, The Tin Man and Toto as they journey to see the Wizard of Oz. Beef and Boards brings the beloved classic to Indianapolis. A dinner buffet is included in the ticket price. Tickets range in price from $37 - $60. There's a $10 discount for children ages 3 - 15.

Indianapolis Museum of Art Summer Nights Film Series

Enjoy the warm summer weather while watching a movie at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. The IMA will feature Father of the Bride as part of The National Bank of Indianapolis 2012 Summer Nights Film Series. Films are presented every Friday night in the IMA's outdoor amphitheater from June 1 to August 31. In June, featured films include What Ever Happened to Baby Jane (1962), Rear Window (1954),Father of the Bride (1950),Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid (1969) and Big (1988). Tickets are $10; $6 for museum members and and children six and under are free, but a ticket is required.

Flogging Molly

Celtic punk rock band, Flogging Molly is known for their loud sound and use of traditional Irish instruments. Their music has grown in popularity in recent years and has been featured on television and film. They will bring their eclectic sound to the Old National Centre. Opening act is The Devil Makes Three. Tickets are $25.

Asian Fest

The culture, dance, music and cuisine of Asia comes to Indianapolis at the fifth annual Asian Fest. The event will feature children's activities, colorful costumes, Asian-related businesses and civic groups. This year, Asian Fest will spotlight Thailand with a special exhibit. Admission is free.

When: June 9; 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Chow Down Midtown

If you're stuck in a dining out rut and would like to try someplace new, Chow Down Midtown is the perfect opportunity. From June 11 - 24, over 30 midtown Indy restaurants are offering special $30 meals. Many of these meals are three courses or more and at a deeply discounted rate. Reservations may be required, so verify with the venue before you dine out.

Indy Air Show

Enjoy a day of extreme family fun at the Indy Air Show. See spectacular stunts and great performances. In addition to a ton of air entertainment, the show also features a kid zone, car show, various vendors and shopping, military history exhibit and much more. Tickets are $15 for adults/ $5 for children. Kids under 5 are free and all military personnel are free. Media Day is June 22 and tickets for adult that day only are $10, $5 for kids.

Dave Matthews Band

The Dave Matthews Band will hold two concerts this summer at Klipsch Music Center. Tickets are $39.50 and $74. This summer concert has become a summer tradition at Klipsch. This year, the band will hold two concerts.

When: June 22 & 23, 7 p.m.

Fishers Freedom Festival

The Fishers Freedom Festival is a two-day event that includes a 5K run, business tent, kids tent, cornhole, live entertainment, food drive, kiddie run, parade, arts and crafts vendors. The festival ends with a fireworks display.
