Luna Negra Dance Theater with Turtle Island Quartet
Chicago dance theater, Luna Negra, celebrates the Latino culture through works by Latino choreographers and community educational programs. Rodgers and Hammerstein at the Movies
The Indiana Symphony Orchestra celebrates Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's songwriting masterpieces. Jack Everly conducts the orchestra while memorable scenes from classic films play onscreen. Rodgers and Hammerstein classics from Oklahoma!, The King and I, South Pacific, Carousel and The Sound of Music are featured. Tickets range in price from $20 - $58.

Deep Ink: Tattoo Legend Artist Lyle Tuttle
The Indianapolis Art Museum presents this discussion about how tattoo culture has evolved over the last century. What once was unique to prisoners and sailors has now gone to the suburbs. Lyle Tuttle, famous for his "body suit" of tattoos,will discuss his life's work, inking such celebrities as Janis Joplin and becoming the father of modern tattooing. The lecture will discuss the culture impact of the tattoo and the history and folklore behind the art. Tickets are $5 for IMA members and students, $8 for the public. Parking is $5 and free for members.

Annie
Who doesn't love Annie? The Carmel Repertory Theater presents this classic musical about Annie, a young girl living in an orphanage who is suddenly invited to stay in the mansion of cold-hearted millionaire, Oliver Warbucks. After winning over his heart, Annie convinces Warbucks to help her find her real parents. Filled with great songs and dancing, Annie is a great choice for the entire family. Ann Katz Festival of Books and Art
The Ann Katz Festival of Books and Arts showcases a large variety of authors, films and art programs that offer something for every interest and age. The festival features 12 author talks, including award-winning journalist Lee Kravitz. Kravitz's book, Unfinished Business: One Man’s Extraordinary Year of Trying to Do the Right Thing discusses what happens when you take time in life to tie up loose strings and right some wrongs. Three short films from the Heartland Film Festival will be shown as well as other artistic films.

Indy International Festival
The 2011 International Festival is a great way to learn about the various ethnic cultures of Indianapolis. Featuring exhibits from over 50 ethnic groups, the event highlights the rich cultural histories and traditions of Indianapolis people. The festival includes authentic foods from over 20 ethnic vendors, music and dance by local and national performing groups, unique cultural crafts and an international marketplace.Activities include beer and wine tastings, Italian street painting, and special performances by various bands. Adult tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Children ages 6 - 12 are $6. Advance tickets can be purchased at Kahn's Fine Wines.
