December is a beautiful time in Indianapolis. The Circle is lit and the city is buzzing with holiday events. This month Indy has a variety of events to offer - everything from children's events, to theater to museums. Check out this list when making your holiday plans.

Our Goose is Cooked

There's nothing like spending time with your close-knit family around the holidays. The Phoenix Theatre's zany take on that Christmas closeness will provide the perfect relief to holiday stress. A Very Phoenix Xmas: Our Goose is Cooked combines humorous sketches with traditional and non-traditional holiday music and dance numbers.Tickets range in price from $15 - $25.

1836 Outdoor Adventure at Conner Prairie

It's the winter of 1836 in Prairietown and for three days, visitors can help the town prepare for the holiday season. Join the residents as they warm up by a bonfire for singing and storytelling. Enjoy chocolate demonstrations and tastings. Indoors, tour the Gingerbread Village and let the children play in the Science Lab and Discovery Station. Cost is $12 for adults and $9 for children. Children under two are free.

Conservatory Crossing at the Garfield Park Conservatory

It's a winter wonderland at the Garfield Park Conservatory. Decorated in its holiday best, the conservatory is alive with a brilliant display of poinsettias. Enjoy running model trains, a train village and thousands of twinkling lights. Price is $3 per person or $8 per family.

Moscow Ballet’s 'Great Russian Nutcracker'

The Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker has been delighting North American audiences for 19 years. Known for its whimsical movements and elaborate costumes, this unique take on the classic ballet will make for a great holiday tradition. Tickets range in price from $39.50 - $352.

'Rejoice!'

Butler University presents its annual gift to the community. Hosted by the Butler Chorale and University Choir, this year’s concerts also feature the musicians of the Butler Symphony Orchestra. The combined forces perform Puccini’s “Gloria,” and other festive musical fare. The concert is free but tickets are required. Get your tickets here.

Christine Pedi:'There’s No Bizness Like Snow Bizness'

Long time Forbidden Broadway diva and Sirius/XM Radio talk show host Christine Pedi brings in the holiday season with her unique comedic flair, featuring impressions and songs of good cheer about about your favorite divas - Barbra Streisand, Joan Rivers, Liza Minnelli, Julie Andrews, Patti LuPone. Tickets range in price from $35 - $55 and there's a $12 food or drink minimum per person.

Black Nativity

The Madame Walker Theatre Center comes alive this holiday. Black Nativity tells the powerful story of the birth of Jesus Christ through gospel music, dance and the poetry of African-American writer, Langston Hughes. Tickets are $10.

Indianapolis Ballet's 'The Nutcracker'

Over 80 dancers take the stage in the Indianapolis School of Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. This production is set in Victorian Indianapolis with beautiful scenery that includes the historic Morris-Butler House. Enjoy the exquisite costumes as the beautiful ballet transports you to a magical time and place. Tickets range in price from $15 - $25. Parking is free.

Handel's 'Messiah'

Experience the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Indianapolis Symphonic Choir in Handel's Messiah - a holiday masterpiece. Tickets for adults range in price from $23 - $56, $46. Tickets for children range in price from $12 - $29.

Mannheim Steamroller: Christmas

Celebrating its 25th anniversary of its first Christmas album release, Mannheim Steamroller will perform one show at the Murat Theatre this month. The group is the biggest selling Christmas artist of all time. Tickets range in price from $40 - $65.
