Treasure Island: A Musical Adventure

Pegged as a hilarious adaptation by Ken Ludwig of the original 1934 comedy, this play is about a bankrupt Broadway director who tries to win back an ex-chorus girl who has since made it big in Hollywood and no longer wants anything to do with him.

Bringing local history to life, this play is about an author who spends a week at Conner Prairie Living History Museum in an attempt to gain insight into the subject of his latest book, Indiana frontiersman William Conner.

Presented by the Indianapolis Opera with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Das Rheingold is the musical telling of a struggle among gods, goddesses, and giants who want to be lords of the ring. The opera is performed in German with captions projected above the stage.

In this slower-paced version of the Indy 500, Aldabra tortoises race for a prize of fresh fruit and broccoli. Pre-race activities begin at 10:30 a.m., with commentary and a parade of mascots, princesses, and tortoises. Lowes will be on hand from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. to help you build your own model race car.

The Autism Family Resource Center at Easter Seals Crossroads is sponsoring a new support group designed for grandparents of children with autism. The initial May 30 event will consist of brunch at 10:30 a.m. followed by an organizational meeting at 11 a.m. and a tour of the recently opened Autism Family Resource Center at noon.
