Fireworks light up the sky

Fireworks displays abound.

A host of fireworks displays are scheduled to light up the skies as Indianapolis and surrounding communities celebrate the 2009 Fourth of July holiday. From Indiana's biggest fireworks display, the Freedom Blast in downtown Indianapolis, to shows in small-town parks, the skies will sizzle. Following is a list of fireworks displays in the Indianapolis area, listed alphabetically by town/city.

Downtown Indianapolis - Freedom Blast: 9:45 p.m. Indiana’s largest fireworks display, launched from the Regions Bank Building, One Indiana Square. Fireworks will be synchronized to music broadcast on radio station WFBQ (94.7 FM).

Carmel: 9:45 p.m., launched from the bridge over the Monon Trail at 126th Street and synchronized to music broadcast by B105.7 FM.

Cicero: 10 p.m., over Morse Lake near Jackson Street in Cicero.

Danville: 10 p.m., Danville High School, 100 Warrior Way, Danville

Greenfield: At dusk, Greenfield Central High School, 810 N. Broadway, Greenfield

Noblesville: 10 p.m., Noblesville High School, 18111 Cumberland Rd., Noblesville

Shelbyville: At dusk, Shelby County Fairgrounds, North Route 128, Shelbyville

Sheridan: At dusk, Biddle Memorial Park

Tipton: At dusk, Tipton County 4-H Fairgrounds

Zionsville: At dusk, Zionsville Lions Park
