King Tut and Egyptian Pharaohs Exhibit at Indianapolis Children's Museum
National Geographic’s exhibit “Tutankhamun: The Golden King and Great Pharaohs” is on display at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis through Oct. 25, 2009. Included in the four-gallery exhibit are over 130 treasures and artifacts from ancient Egyptian rulers and the tomb of King Tut.

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is the largest children’s museum in the world and is guaranteed to delight kids of all ages (that means mom and dad, too). The museum features 11 major galleries that explore the physical and natural sciences, history, world cultures and the arts. Hands-on exhibits are the norm.
The Indianapolis Zoo
A world-class facility, The Indianapolis Zoo organizes its residents into five biomes, or living habitats. Visit the popular Meerkat exhibit in the Deserts biome, take in a dolphin show in the Oceans biome, or get up-close and personal in Encounters. There's always something new to see and do at the zoo.
Soldiers and Sailors Monument
The Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Monument Circle, downtown Indianapolis, honors Indiana's fallen Civil War heroes. Visitors can view the city from the top of the 285-foot-tall monument, or visit the Colonel Eli Lilly Civil War Museum inside. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wed-Sun; phone (317) 232-7615.
The Indiana War Memorial Plaza Historic District
The Indiana War Memorial Plaza Historic District consists of 24 acres of parks, museums, monuments, statues, sculptures, and fountains in downtown Indianapolis, making Indy second only to Washington D.C. in acreage and number of monuments dedicated to veterans. The plaza is also the national headquarters of the American Legion.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Home of the Indianapolis 500,the Brickyard 400, and, this year, the Red Bull Indianapolis GP motorcycle race, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is considered the racing capital of the world. On the racetrack grounds is the Hall of Fame Museum dedicated to automobiles and auto racing.
Indiana State Library
The Indiana State Library was established in 1825 to accommodate the research needs of Indiana's legislators, and has since grown to meet the needs of all Indiana citizens today. The library is responsible for collecting and preserving all types of information and data about the state of Indiana, including genealogical information for those interested in tracing their family's history.
