The Festival Music Society of Indiana is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing audiences with quality musical performances of Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque era pieces on period instruments. The society puts together the annual Early Music Festival held each June and July in Indianapolis.
The 42nd Indianapolis Early Music Festival will take place from June 26 through July 19, 2009. All concerts will be held in The Basile Opera Center located at 40th and Pennsylvania streets. Performers include Reconstruction, Ex Umbris, David Greenburg & Chris Norman with Ronn McFarlane & Mark Cudek, I Furiosi, Harmonious Blacksmith with Allsion Edberg, and The Peabody Consort.

The Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra is composed of 35 professional musicians dedicated to presenting professional concert performances and educational programs. In addition to their own concert series, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra accompanies the Indianapolis Opera, Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, American Pianists Association, Indianapolis Arts Chorale, and many other local organizations.

The Indianapolis Children’s Choir’s mission is to provide music education in the area of choral performance to the youth of Indianapolis, from toddlers to high school students. In addition to a schedule of annual concerts, the Indianapolis Children’s Choir also accompanies orchestras and other professional artists.
ICC is comprised of many choirs, which vary in terms of skills and performance levels. Some choirs travel extensively, while others rehearse and perform only locally. Performances by these well-trained and highly-disciplined voices are both impressive and enjoyable.
The Indianapolis Children’s Choir’s 2009 performances include Voices of Youth, Hear Our Song, Spring Celebration, and the 24th Annual Summer Choral Festival.

The Indianapolis Opera is the only professional grand opera company in the state of Indiana. The Indianapolis Opera is dedicated to providing vibrant performances to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Ticket prices for the Opera range from $30 to $115.
The Indianapolis Opera’s next performance is Das Rheingold: In Concert in May, 2009. The performance will be in German, with English translations projected above the stage.

The Indianapolis Symphonic Choir is a choir of dedicated volunteer singers led by a professional staff and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The organization presents more than 20 performances each season, and is deeply committed to musical excellence.
Concerts scheduled for 2009 include the “Celebration Gospel Festival” and “Russian Nights Music of the Czars.”

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) is a professional orchestra dedicated to leading in music education. The orchestra creates a multitude of learning opportunities throughout the year including the “Arts Everyday” program and the “Young People’s Discovery Concerts” series. The ISO also offers the “Happy Hour at the Symphony Series,” which is comprised of hour-long, celebrity-hosted concerts on select Thursday evenings.
