Times are tough and many of our friends and neighbors are struggling financially. As we enter into the holiday season, it's important to give back to the community. With so many out of work or underemployed, the holidays can be a difficult time. There are many opportunities in Indianapolis to serve the less fortunate this Thanksgiving. Some of these are happening this weekend. Below are just a few ways you can serve.
- Geist Christian Church Thanksgiving Meal Collection and Delivery - The church is looking for volunteers to coordinate the collection and deliver yof food and gifts to over 700 people within Marion and Hamilton Counties. Volunteers are needed to help with tasks such as food donations, purchase last minute items, and deliver to food to families. Deliveries are made from 8:30-11:00 am on Saturday, November 17. It's not too late to get involved!
- Wheeler Missions Drumstick Dash & Meal Service - The ministry needs volunteers to assist with the annual Drumstick Dash fundraiser. In addition, you can volunteer to help with food collection and service. Visit the website to learn more about volunteer registration.
- Mozel Sanders Foundation Meal Service - The Mozel Sanders Foundation needs assistance with Thanksgiving Day meal service. Thanksgiving is the largest meal the foundation serves all year and it cannot be done without many volunteers.
