Madonna Scheduled to Play Super Bowl Half-Time Show

While it has been rumored for quite awhile, the NFL made an official announcement during Sunday's football game that Madonna will play the Super Bowl half-time show. Madonna is working in collaboration with Cirque Du Soleil and Jamie King.

Madonna is a multi Grammy-Award winning recording artist and has sold over 300 million albums. She has been inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame for her career achievements which span three decades. The halftime show is the  most-watched musical event of the year. Last year, over 162 million viewers tuned in.

Madonna joins a list of recent halftime acts that includes The Black Eyed Peas, The Who, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2.
