Indianapolis has received yet another accolade. This week, Forbe's Magazine released a list of the 10 best weekend vacation cities and our city has made the cut. The list features cities that are well-suited for weekend trips. These cities offer great food and world-class attractions at inexpensive rates. Forbes mentioned Indy's many sporting events, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indianapolis Children's Museum as high points for tourists. Also listed was the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art and the Indianapolis Zoo.
Of course, the timing of this list is great with the Superbowl XLVI coming to town in only a matter of months. There's plenty of strong attractions and events to keep tourists busy in this town and it's only right that our city receives credit for it. Indianapolis volunteers and city officials are doing everything they can to ensure that when our city begins to fill with visitors during the Superbowl, they will see Indianapolis in this positive light as well.

I have to say this took me by surprise. On second thought though, it makes sense. Indianapolis has invested heavily to attract this kind of tourism and it is good to see that effort recognized.
