The Circus is Coming to Town

The 140th edition of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is coming to Indianapolis from December 1-5 at the Conseco Fieldhouse.

This year's production is themed "Funundrum" and celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of P.T. Barnum. In addition, audiences can join the circus performers one hour prior to showtime at the free pre-circus party.

Tickets to the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus are $11 to $75. Tickets are available at ringling.com, Conseco Fieldhouse box office, and by calling 317-239-5151. For a look at the 2006 circus in Philadelphia, see this pictorial from John Fischer, the former About Guide to Philadelphia.

I saw a concert at The Lawn this summer and it was awesome. It’s a cozy venue that is very family friendly – there were several kids dancing on blankets their parents had laid out on the grassy hill. I must confess I had a marguerita or two and thoroughly enjoyed the concert.

If you get there early, you can check out the adjoining canal and attractions in White River State Park.
