Indy Author Fair Saturday

If you've ever dreamed of writing the Great American Novel, this Saturday, Sept. 26, is your chance to get some professional advice on getting published -- and it's free! The IMCPL Central Library downtown (40 E. St. Clair St, Indianapolis) will be hosting the Indy Author Fair from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., giving visitors an opportunity to meet dozens of Indiana authors, including James Alexander Thom and all of the 2009 Indiana Authors Award finalists. The schedule of events for the day is as follows:

  • 10 a.m.-noon: "A Crash Course in Publishing" presented by The Writers' Center of Indiana in Clowes Auditorium
  • Noon-2 p.m.: Book sales and signings featuring over 40 Indiana authors in the Simon Reading Room
  • 1:30-2:15 p.m.: Indiana Authors Award book sales and signings in the Clowes Auditorium Vestibule
  • 2:30-4 p.m.: "Meet the Authors," a session in which James Alexander Thom and Indiana Award Finalists will discuss their works and take questions from the audience
