Forecast Calls for a Mild July 4th

From Christy Pingleton, About.com GuideJuly 1, 2009

Your ice cream may melt this Fourth of July, but you won't. Barring a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms, Saturday is shaping up to be a gorgeous day, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service. It calls for a high temperature of 79 degrees during the day, dipping to a low of 61 degrees with a 20 percent chance of storms Saturday night. Sunday should be mostly cloudy, with a high near 81 degrees.

If you're planning to get a headstart on the holiday, you'll be happy to hear that the forecast for Friday calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of 84 degrees. For those of you who plan to extend the weekend festivities into Monday, that day is slated to be mostly sunny as well, with a high of 82. Now that's something to celebrate!
