It Really Is Spring

From Christy Pingleton, About.com GuideApril 7, 2009

Okay, so yesterday it was snowing, and if you were out and about early this morning you probably noticed that the temperature was a little on the frigid side, but I double-checked my calendar, and yes, it really is spring. And the calendar's not the only evidence. Flowers and trees have begun to bloom, as witnessed by the photo above, which I took this morning in my own neighborhood. Inspiring, isn't it? And I'm sure you've got a tree just like it in your own neighborhood.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperature today will top out at 43 degrees, and we can expect a low tonight of 29. So if you got carried away by the 70-degree weather we had in March and planted a little prematurely, don't forget to cover those plants tonight. There's a slight chance of snow tomorrow night as well, but after that, lows should hover in the 40s and highs should head up into the 50s for the remainder of the week. The forecast for Easter Sunday? Mostly sunny, with a high of 58 degrees. Yep, spring is here.
