Indy's Guardian Angel

Thursday November 20, 2008

As Thanksgiving approaches, those who head to Monument Circle to celebrate the holiday season will be watched over by a three-foot-tall bronze cherub in keeping with one of Indy's long-standing traditions. The cherub dates back to the post-World War II era, and appears annually atop the clock attached to the outside of the former L.S. Ayres building at the intersection of Washington and Meridian streets.

Want to keep the spirit of the cherub alive year-round? You can purchase a four-inch-tall resin replica online from the Indiana State Museum. How’s that for a unique holiday gift idea?
